Just a thought…
In this last day, many false prophets abound. These are men of belial, who in pursuit of adulation and glory, proclaim themselves to be what they are not. These are they who proclaim victory when there is nothing but defeat:
“And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel. And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria? And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramoth Gilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses. And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the Lord today. Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king. And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him?” (1 Kings 22:2-7 KJV)
These are they who call themselves “prophet” or “prophetess” so that men esteem their words above the Lord’s name. (There is no prophet school founded by man that can ever train the elect.) These are they who speak swelling words to those with itching ears and utter false prophesy to gain favor:
“For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord [Yeshua HaMashiach], but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to Him from the excellent Glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with Him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the [Ruach HaKodesh].” (2 Peter 1:16-21)
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.” (2 Peter 2:1-3 KJV)
Oh that men would praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever! Then might they see and know that all glory belongs to God. Yet, it is evident that they are blind; they have neither heard the Lord’s command nor counted the cost of their error. For had they heard Adonai, they would not boast about their anointing because a prophetic mantle causes humble contemplation of one’s duty. And had they counted the cost of what they would have to endure as a prophet, they would have turned aside. For, a prophet’s road is a lonely road, and the journey is one for the ages. No man can comfort me now, as I am in His kingdom and on my way to Roma. As Scripture says in Matthew 10:16, “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” (KJV)
Let us heed the Lord and be His followers rather than followers of vain men.
